En las redes sociales surgió la polémica debido a una fotografía de un vestido, cuyo color parece cambiar y tiene a los cibernautas divididos entre quienes lo ven de color azul con negro y quienes lo aprecian blanco con dorado.
Las principales marcas de diversos productos a nivel mundial han utilizado la oportunidad para opinar y así atraer la atención de los usuarios.
